I normally don’t write reviews because well, honestly, I’m lazy! But....I really want everyone to know how amazing our experience was at Charleston Window Films. First of all the shop is Amazing. It is clean and organized with top of the line equipment. We can’t compliment the staff enough. Their customer service exceeded our expectations, they were polite, professional, and incredibly prompt. I mean we were in and out like that. I thought it would at least take half of the day, but I was wrong. We were in and out in just an hour or so (we only have a small sedan). They also took the time to explain how the benefits exceed just the looks; for example, it increases car value, keeps the interior from fading, keeps out those harmful UV Rays, solar heat rejection, shattered glass protection, security/privacy, etc... Seriously, everyone needs to go to Charleston Window Films! Your car will Thank you.

I had CWF apply residential window tinting to my home. The service and sales experience was great. I chose an upgraded window film and I love the street view of my reflective windows. However, the film installed has begun to like melt away. They have already been out once to replace my storm door glass but this problem has continued. Now calls are not being returned. Big price tag for a high quality film that I was sold to just start to disappear or melt away. Multiple windows are affected. .

Please don’t make the same mistake as I did. I live out of state, but I was coming to Charleston for a visit so I made an appointment to get the windows tinted on my brand new car. I chose Charleston Window Films because they did a fantastic job on my last car in 2021 and I love to support a small business in my home town. I didn’t even think to look at recent reviews. I regret my decision entirely. While the pricing is reasonable and the service was done in a timely manner, the quality of the work and the treatment of customers is atrocious. When I got my car back, the first thing I noticed was a wrinkle in the tint on the driver side window. The guy at the shop said it would go away once the tint cured in a couple of days to a week (it’s been a little over two weeks and it’s still there exactly as it was the first day). Next, I noticed how dirty they left my car. There were water spots all over the outside of the doors that were tinted. Inside, there were water spots on the doors, the center console, the dash and a puddle of water just sitting on the dash under the infotainment screen. By the end of the day I noticed several wrinkles and spots with debris under the tint. The next day, I called the shop to let them know that I was not happy with the quality of work and would need it removed and my money refunded. We also discussed a scratch on my side view mirror that I hadn’t noticed prior to the service, but they assured me they checked the cameras and it was not their employees’ doing. I was told they would redo the tint, but I was not comfortable with them doing it again and said that wouldn’t work. I made an appointment to come back the next time I was in town to have the tint stripped and my money refunded. I received a text confirming my appointment. One week before my appointment, I received a text saying my appointment was canceled. I did not receive any contact explaining the cancellation, so I called the shop. I was told that the boss said they won’t issue a refund until I let them try again. I then asked to speak to the boss and Derek was put on the phone. I explained my situation— I live out of state and didn’t have time to potentially have to come back twice if I let them try again. Derek said that’s their policy. I have never seen this policy posted anywhere nor did I sign anything agreeing to this policy, so I explained again that I was unhappy with the tint, wanted it removed and my money refunded. Derek refused to work with me, so I asked to be put in contact with the owner, Joel. I did not get any contact from Joel on that Friday, so I sent in an email asking for the owner to contact me regarding my situation. On Tuesday morning, I called and asked that Joel contact me. I was told he would call me in two hours as soon as he got in the office. Three hours later (and no call), I called the shop again and I was told Joelle would call me as soon as he got into the office. I never received a phone call from Joel. Do not use this company if you’re looking for excellent customer service and high quality work.

The worst business I have ever dealt with. The owner Joel lacks communication and customer service skills, the workers are low quality and incompetent, and the quality of work is horrendous. Over the span of 4-5 tint jobs that were continuously redone due to broken tint meters, bubbles, felt/debris stuck behind the tint (see photos) and even a large velcro type feature across my entire window, my car was very poorly treated. Trash left on the floor including razors and scraping tools, a loose door panel which I have yet to fix, white stuff stuck all over my door panels, and scratches all over my windows including one that is brand new from the factory (see photos). I was blamed continuously for their poor work and incompetency. Not to mention, there were several appointments I had scheduled and showed up for with no one at the office, or being told they couldn’t take care of me at the moment. They claim a lifetime warranty, but will void it at any inconvenience in which they can’t do your tint properly. They won’t refund you either, not leaving many options. If you’re lucky enough and sit in the shop for hours waiting to talk to the owner, one of the young employees might come mention, “hey we gon cash app you bruh you gotta go” as they did to me. I would recommend you learn how to tint your own windows before wasting your time here. Out of all the tint jobs they did on my car, not a single job was completed without bubbles in the final product accompanied by snarky, rude attitudes from the employees and owner.
